Why do the vast majority of people play Protoss? Because they are overpowered. If you play Terran or Zerg, you know that its very difficult to counter Protoss air, i.e. Voidrays, carriers & Mothership. Battlecruisers suck compared to carriers and Terran anti-air capabilities are almost non existent. Also, the fact that the terran detector unit is VISIBLE may be a problem since its so easy to target. Nuke Protoss Please!

With the comsat scan, you shouldn't be failing at detection at all. Unless it doesn't detect stealth now, which I don't think is the case.

Sorry dude, I don't know what to tell you. If you are having trouble with protoss you need to alter your strategy. Zerg and toss are pretty close in balance but Terran are definitely the strongest right now, in my opinion. I'm not saying its impossible for a zerg or toss to beat terran, but i honestly believe it takes much more work to win as those two races.
It could just be me, who knows.
But the concept of protoss being generally overpowered is pretty ridiculous. Now it could just be that you are a 'troll', but i'll just go ahead and take the bait.
Which aspect of the toss is overpowered? Which units are overpowered?

I think, but could be wrong, that most people would agree that Protoss are slightly underpowered compared to the other races. A lot of people play them because they're shiny.
To answer your question: Terran anti-air is most definitely not bad. Terran has a detector on their command center for pinches or "lazy" people. Terran turrets are respectable. Vikings are quite effective versus Capital Ships. I have to say, though, that if your opponent manages to mass Carriers and get a Mothership out, there's a different problem at hand.
Notes on the Mothership: It's slow, so flank him or be prepared. His units will only move as fast as the Mothership. If he did this, you'd better have prepared with proper anti-air (are scourge still present and effective versus carriers?). If you have that detector, just focus fire the carriers. If you get sucked into a vortex, run all of your units inside of it. The point of the vortex is to divide and army. If you just throw it all in there, then he can't kill anything. Interesting strategy that I employed when an enemy Mothership beat mine in casting that Vortex.

Comsat scan is good, but its not the same as having an observer that is invisible and detects other cloaked units.

MMM basically counters everything protoss has, including air (Marines are more than decent against air). You shouldn't even be letting the protoss get to carriers, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Void Rays are way OP to me. Their damage increases tremedously over time and if they have enough of them, your command center is gone in 3 seconds. Also, while vulcans have decent air to air, carriers tear them to shreds. Maybe its just me because I play 1v1 ladder and every opponent seems to play Protoss. BTW whats a troll? Im new to forums.

By MMM you mean mass marines? Im mostly talking about battles that take place in areas where ground units cant go.

We both teched.
They got mass muts.
I got cruisers and friend got carriers.
When I saw the mass mutalisks I thought it was gg, but I guess we somehow won. Took 2 cruiser casualties, they lost their base. gg.
But of course, there was another time I massed vikings and the enemy got muts. Got *!#%d. I don't think that should be happening, since vikings ARE the terran's mobile AA amirite?

Carriers are ridiculous. I have never lost if I ever managed to put out a couple carriers. If they weren't so resource heavy and at the end of the tech tree I would expect them to be nerfed. As is, god help you if you let someone build a bunch of them.
The above matches my views completely. I havent played in a couple hours so maybe my rank went down :(

Instead you have one that can see and detect anywhere without the danger of being destroyed, and one that can kill things and shoot bullets out of the air.
And people BUILD carriers? If someone ever sends them at you, just shift+right click all of them with your Vikings and Marines and go tend to more pressing matters like building SCVs.

I think the only time i ever lost to protoss is when he rushed me with void rays. I was also protoss that match (usually i am terran).

Muts are powerful air units but a heard of vikings should work fine if you know how to micro. And stop fighting air where ground units can't go. Bring the fight to your marines.
Also protoss only has an observer and photon cannons. Terran has great AA detectors and a scan that will show invis units. Best counter to observers is just a few well placed turrets. Problem solved. Got Dark Templars bugging you? Scan where they are. problem solved.
Marines absolutely destroy void rays as well. And marauders can destroy most toss ground units, use marines to deal with them pesky immortals and GG.

Clearly the amount of high ranked protoss players has NOTHING to do with the fact that so many people are playing protoss. Well guess what, it does. There simply are more people playing protoss. Not to mention you have no clue of how many people in the ladder are protoss, that little icon means NOTHING. It is your original race, but from what I've observed it will never change. So, a lot of those people may have been playing a lot of protoss before they got nerfed like crazy, but could be using a different race now.
Oh and btw... 1 viking > collosi

i know imma say what alot of of testers are gonna say... Protoss are no way overpowered. im Num 1 in my copper league(and i dont know how i bounced to copper league from silver.... after winning 2 matchs in a row....)I started off as toss and moved my way to terrans.... Terrans anti air is marines.... and THORS i dont understand why people underestimate thors.... they arnt fun to play around with because they are so big and bulky. but over all they do really good agasint air(other then BC's)

Well in random 2v2 (which I started out with) I started with random, then after I decided I liked protoss I played MANY more games with protoss than random... and I still have the dice as my image. Maybe your icon changes according to the last race, but mine certainly doesn't.

Strange. I play 1v1 ladder and it always changes. Maybe because you play random and I don't? Wouldn't make sense though. Oh well.

My 1v1 doesn't change either. Maybe its a specific bug with protoss or something (And hence why there are so many protoss).

Thats our weakest avenue,most of our heavy lifting tends to be from zealots/immortals/sentries from what i've seen
Hell even just zealots/sentries/stalkers...why do you think people hate warp gates?cause we can get these 3 units out FAST.

Toss are definately not OP...but if you are using the wrong strat or are not scouting their units will punish you...I can see how noobs would think toss are OP because their units can dominate...Immortals will destroy any ground armored unit while bearly taking any damage, Collisi kills massive amount of marines in just a few shots...and yes carrier are incredibly strong (but so are ultras and BC's, thats why they cost so much and need alot of tech)
Honestly as a terran if i scout everything the toss has and can make it to midgame i find it hard to lose versus standard toss...they have alot of immortals? get mass rines...they get a few collosus? I get 4-5 vikings and focus fire them then destroy the rest of the army with mauraders
carriers are really good but like it has been said if you have gone to late game and let them get 6 carriers and a mothership then you better have mass BC's or something and if you dont then you have lost before carriers anyway

I used to be one of those people that HATED playing Protoss (as a Terran,) because I had absolutely no clue how to play the game. I still may not know, so please don't insult me for offering "noob" advice, but please correct me if I'm doing it wrong.
Regardless, I build a decent amount of marines. I typically do 3 rax, 1 with a reactor and 2 with a tech addon, then I upgrade the hell out of their weapons. Reasoning? Voids can only target one dude at a time, and their fire rate isn't exactly stellar. I don't build anything at a factory (is that bad?)
Don't forget to get an engineering bay to not only upgrade your ground units, but to put turrets spaced around your base to detect cloaks. Make sure you micro and keep your dudes using their stim packs.
Also; Just because you storm his base doesn't mean your done. I always used to get a bit in and figure it was gg and leave my troops alone while I went to build more, then he'd attack me and I had no idea what happened.
Finally; make sure you keep your turrets up. LOTS of turrets. The more the better. That way, when it comes down to him storming your base, he'll at least have to micro his way in.

How come absolutely no one has written about how high templars and their psi storm can destroy large groups of marines/marauders? Why build high templars and only use them to make immortals?
If someone brings a massive army of marines against me, then I use only about 2 or 3 psi storms, and the entire group vanishes almost completely in less than 5 seconds.

What does shift+right-click do?
It's a waypoint, allows your unit to do certain things in a queued order. like Build supply depot then gather minerals/gas. Any unit can do it.

I have played more terran then I have any other race, I play protoss myself and RARELY do I ever see another toss or zerg. All I see is terran and IMO they are the easiest to play out of all the races. You need to learn EMP and learn it fast. Terran have a counter for just about everything and thoes counters take little to no micro or skill at all.
Terran's late game is weaker then early/mid, you should never let a game go to long as terran.
I could go on and on about how ur wrong but I wont. Try actually playing protoss or zerg and your opinions will change alot.
