Lets get a thread going detailing your computer setup and your performance.

Im running an
AMD 3800+
7600 GT
2GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

The game is playable on default settings but I find it lags after the game progresses and more units are on the battlefield. Post your FPS and resolution too if you can!

Radeon 1gig 4670
4gigs 1333MHz RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate - 32 bit

Runs all settings on high with a couple at Ultra, 1920 x 1080 res and doesn't lag. :D

I am getting a hd5450 soon so judging by your response I think I should be able to play it a lot better along with an i7 and 6 gm ram.

Other than low FPS caused by my old video card It's great which I intend to replace before the games release.

Run's game on ultra/extreme settings 1680x1050 60 fps, big battles don't drop it. I was stuck at 34-45 fps before I overclocked my e8400.

Still not worth it. Grab an AM3 socket motherboard, and Phenom X4 965 3.2 GHz quad from AMD and you'll get near the same performance and utility, great overclocking ability, for.. half the price. Until Intel drops the price of it at least. If they were the same price I'd say go with intel, save yourself some cash. Unless you have wads and wads of it, then whatever.

Not including tax:

AM3 socket motherboard - 70 dollars
Phenom x4 965 - 180 dollars
Total = 250

LGA 1366 socket mobo = 150 dollars
Intel i7 920 = 300 dollars
total = 450

..lol.

I could probably play the game on higher settings, but I keep them low because I'm not 100% sure my video card can handle that much.

Looking at getting a 9800GT or GTX (can't afford the 280 series yet) soon.

Which brings a question to mind... Does anyone know what Blizzard's policy is regarding system upgrades during the Beta? Would upgrading my video card next month invalidate my beta invite?

Two days into the beta I switched my Radeon X800 to a borrowed GeForce 9800 GX2, and it doesn't seem like anyone has noticed. I would think Blizzard is smart enough to allow for people getting upgrades or having their equipment break; I signed up for beta with a GeForce 7900 GS in my computer, but I managed to fry the thing two weeks before beta and I've been surviving on loaners since then (though this dual-GPU, 197-watt monstrosity is a pretty sweet loaner).

Like i said about intel vs AMD

Nvidia vs ATI. You get the same (if not better performance, it differs on every game. Very close) for a lot cheaper, by going with ATI. Do yourself a favor and save some cash.

Cheap, dx11, runs every game on max seamlessly.

Nvidias dx11 cards aren't even out yet... and when they do come out, you can bet your arse that they will be 300 dollars or something ludicrous, and have the same performance of Nvidias dx11 cards that are already out.

You could buy two 5770's for the price of one DX11 nvidia card in the next several months, and have amazing crossfire performance.

Mine's an 8400 (worse than an 8800) and the game performs all right on low settings. I had to reduce my resolution to 1024 X 768 to fix some minor graphical lag, but other than that, the game looks nice. I'd like to see how it looks on a better card, though.

What's the difference between a 5770 and a 5750? The 5770 is PCIe 2.1 and I think my PCIe slot is only 2.0. Video cards are probably the one area where I'm actually bad with computers. Will a 5770 still work with a PCIe 2.0 slot, or am I going to have to go with a 5750?

I'm also leery about going with ATi since I had an X1350 that blew up after about 6 months of use.

The 5770 and the 5750 are the same card. The 5750 is just clocked lower and has a few things disabled.

PCIe 2.1 will work with PCIe 2.0.

ATI is the only way to go right now and will probably stay that way until 2011. Even though Nvidia is releasing their new cards before March is over, they are going to be in very short supply and the prices will be ridiculous. They also are going to use a lot of power which means a lot of heat. I would recommend buying a Sapphire or XFX card. Even if it "blows up" they will replace it.

Sounds like I'm going to have to budget a little bit more cash and get the 5770 then. The 9800GT I was looking at was only $30 cheaper than this, so the 5770 looks like the way to go.

Thanks for the advice.

Here ya go:

Runs on high without any issues at all. I have not tested ultra but I plan on bumping it up to see if there's any lag when I do.

With a setup like that I dont see why you would be having any sluggishness at all. I would upgrade out of vista and into windows 7 to get more performance, but you also may want to make sure the system's running good over all. With dual 4890's, 12 gigs of ram, and dual 2.67's (the game only utilizes two cores of your four) you should be having no issues at all.

There is a way to use all four cores, you need to edit something in the registry.
