chrono boost cant be autocast because what it casts it on the nexus when u activate autocast, but u arent there to build probes cuz ur micro'ing in battle?

but larva inject can be autocast and it will help zerg. make it cause the queen to auto inject larva into hatcheries that are viable in a 6 game unit radius

i play terran mule doesnt need to be autocast cuz if i forget i can blow 100 mana and get all the minerals anyway

The whole point was to separate you from people who CAN larva inject and still play the game.

Just being honest. (And Auto-cast would be REALLY too much/too easy/easy mode)

Just hotkey your queen to a number you like and remember to press her every time you need the larva

Stop making the game play for you.

If its autocast, might as well make the hatchery create 6 larva by default.

No

First off you should invest some attention to this wonderful ability larva inject.

Second I like to let the energy build up in those moments Im not pumping as many units out. Then use it on creep tumors and start expanding that creep.

This, because at that point it's just an upgrade to the Hatchery.

no because the queen could be used for its other abilities if you want you can turn the autocast off

autocast would just be for people who want the queen to focus purely on larva for awhile

autocast lets u keep micro'ing in battle instead of going back to base and using a spell for a split second

Guys, I think he's right, and we should go one further. SC2 should be autoplay, because sometimes players forget to play well cuz their micro'ing in battle

I'll give you two reasons why it should not be autocast:

1. - The more you pay attention to something, i.e. use Spawn Larva, the more you're going to do it later. And plus, think about your enemy. If he's zerg as well, then you have an advantage: you have more of a attention span than he does.

2. - If you forget, you also have energy to use for other things, like during a rush, you could use it like a Warcraft III Holy Light to heal a unit, such as a roach or a spine crawler for a reasonable amount of health, or spread your creep with your invisible tumors. Creep good for speed boost!

Oh, yeah, I forgot another reason: I hate Nancy Grace.

The game should be about strategy, not about remembering to click on something every 60 seconds or whatever. I am in support of autocast for this.

Letting it auto cast removes one aspect of strategy (deciding when to use the larva, or maybe to not use it all and expand creep etc etc) so that you can better micro battles. I'd rather have more macro and less micro, personally. (But that's just cuz I'm really bad at micro LOL)

Why this thread is really, really dumb:

If they intended you to be able to inject larva into your hatchery everytime it was up, they would simply remove the cooldown and limit queens to 1 per hatchery. They don't want you to inject everytime it's up, unless you are a really, really good player.

It shouldn't be autocast.

However, unlike Chrono Boost and MULEs, there is not a situation where you don't want to use Inject Larva. Currently it the Hatchery might as well spawn 6 larva by default when a Queen is near it.

The problem is, where as Chrono Boost requires a choice on which building to cast, and MULE is a tradeoff with Scan, Inject Larva has no other viable alternative choice, you want to cast it always.

The Queen needs a spell that makes players choose between Inject Larva and something else, like the other 2 races.

Otherwise, we'll just keep mindless casting it without a moments thought.

That's the problem. It's never a choice to not use it, unlike the other 2 races macro mechanics, which do require player choice.

Inject Larva doesn't allow for player choice: you should always use it, because the alternative spells are nearly always useless.

Stop making the game play for you.

If its autocast, might as well make the hatchery create 6 larva by default.which would be worse....

i think they should scrap that spell and make it burrow like a lurker and do splash cone damage, and when its near hatchery, it procs xtra larva

Multitasking - the main aspect of StarCraft.
Try to remove it, and you will get one-click game. Welcome to platinum league mr copper with autocasting larva...? ^^

Being able to manage your base while your army is fighting is one of the defining characteristics of starcraft.

Remember to go back to your base and build stuff, start another upgrade that just finished, expanding, etc. applies to all races, not just zerg.
